CHANDRAN RATNASWAMI

Chandran Ratnaswami is a managing director of Hamblin Watsa Investment Counsel Ltd., a company that provides investment management services to the insurance, reinsurance and runoff subsidiaries of Fairfax Financial Holdings Limited. Hamblin Watsa is wholly owned by Fairax.

Prior to joining Hamblin Watsa, Mr. Ratnaswami was owner/president of an industrial distribution company and a senior executive at a major multinational packaged food company.

Mr. Ratnaswami holds a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from I.I.T. Madras, India, and an MBA from the University of Toronto.

PETER PALFRAMAN

Peter Palframan is a chartered accountant and has held executive positions in the broadcasting industry for more than 20 years. He past positions include senior vice president of operations for CHUM Television; vice president, finance and administration, CHUM Television; and vice president, finance and operations, Learning and Skills Television of Alberta.

He was founding vice president, finance, for VisionTV and played a major role in the launch and operation of that channel. He also played an important role in the launch of Canadian Learning Television (CLT), BookTelevision and CourtTV Canada.

JULIA JOHNSTON
Co-Founder, What’s Next Lab

Julia Johnston is co-founder of What’s Next Lab, a company that helps executives think about what’s next for their businesses. Prior to that, she was a vice president of National Public Relations, the largest communications firm in Canada.

Her past positions also include senior vice president, business development, for PCCW Inc., the dominant telecommunications company in Hong Kong.

Ms. Johnston holds a BA in Economics from Princeton University and a Bachelor of Law from the University of Toronto.

DAVID MORGENTHAU
Head of Neurology, Humber River Hospital

Dr. David Morgenthau is a specialist in internal medicine and neurology, with a doctorate in medicine from the University of Toronto. He is head of the department of neurology at Humber River Hospital and also an attending staff member of St. Michael’s Hospital.
