Civilized and Zoomermedia to bring cannabis content to most powerful audience in Canda: Baby Boomers

TORONTO, April 29, 2019 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE)

Cannabis legalization has piqued the interest of Canada’s Baby Boomer generation, and Civilized Worldwide Inc. (“Civilized”) and ZoomerMedia Limited (“ZoomerMedia”) have announced a partnership to create educational and entertaining cannabis content they can read, watch and listen to. The companies have signed an MOU to develop joint content, combining Civilized’s expertise in the cannabis space with ZoomerMedia’s deep knowledge of Canada’s 16.2 million consumers over the age of 45, and its relationship to CARP, which has 320,000 members across the country.“It’s well known that I’ve long been a strong supporter of cannabis legalization for its health and wellness benefits. Zoomers are eager for more knowledge about medical marijuana and its uses. In 2018, Statistics Canada reported that 1,180,015 Canadians between the ages of 45 to 64 consumed cannabis for a total of 211,868 kilograms, and people are just getting started,” says Moses Znaimer, Founder and CEO of ZoomerMedia. “We look to Civilized to help us deliver trusted, smart, and sophisticated programming that speaks to our demographic’s unique needs and interests.”

As part of this collaboration, Civilized will spearhead the development of certain content and ZoomerMedia will take the lead on distribution through its media properties on all platforms: TV, radio, print, digital and events. The two companies are also teaming up to co-create material that will be distributed through international licensing.

“Our stories aren’t just about cannabis, they’re about people who choose to enjoy cannabis and the things they love in their lives. We know that Zoomers represent a growing market in the cannabis space, and we want to do our part to give this audience a platform to learn, explore and be entertained,” says Derek Riedle, Publisher of Civilized. “Nobody in Canada does that better than ZoomerMedia. We’ve always wanted the chance to work with Moses – a Canadian media icon – and his team. We’re excited to get started.”
